2021 Advocacy Summit Keynote Presentation:
This session will provide childbirth educators with a historical and contextual framework to understand birth and reproductive justice as a solution and movement towards addressing racial disparities in birth outcomes. Additionally, the session will highlight strategies for examining power and privilege and the role of childbirth educators in the movement for birth justice.

Aza Nedhari, MS, LM, CPM
Aza Nedhari, MS, LM, CPM is a forward-thinking and visionary reproductive justice activist with a proven track record of exhibiting her strengths in innovative thinking, strategic planning, advanced problem solving, and organizational development. Ms. Nedhari offers 18 years of progressive and intentional work in reproductive health and justice, human service program development and evaluation, and curriculum design. Aza is the co-founding CEO of Mamatoto Village, a Certified Professional Midwife, and holds a Master's degree in Family Therapy. She is currently a Doctoral Candidate examining strategies to cultivate sustainability within Black-led organizations using a racial justice framework.
